The home of the Lathom Digital Archives Project
We are a group of community organisations and individuals who have a common interest in the vast heritage of Lathom. We are now in the process of compiling a freely accessible online archive of material relating to Lathom and the people associated with it. It will include ancient deeds and other historical documents, research papers, photographs and newspaper cuttings, in fact anything to do with the history of Lathom! This is no small task, but with your help we will do everything we can to make it a reality!
At the moment archive and related material is widely dispersed. Being in the care of so many different organisations and individuals makes it difficult for researchers of Lathom to easily access information on a place and the people who were such an enormous part of English history. We are trying to bring as much of this material together to the benefit of all who would love to learn more about Lathom.
Do you have any material that could be included in the Lathom Archive? Then let us know! Are you passionate about what we're doing? We are always looking for volunteers to help us make our vision a reality. We'll help you find a way to volunteer that best suits you. We would be excited to have you join the team. The database for the archives is now being compliled by our volunteers. Once it is up and running, all material will be accessible from this site.
Whether you help by allowing us access to material to include in the archives, volunteering your time or spreading the word about what we do, thank you. We can't achieve our goals without the help of supporters like you.
Jane Williams and Paul Sherman will be providing training to members of the Lathom Park Trust on scanning material to be added to the Lathom Digital Archive Project. If you have any Lathom related material that we may be interested in scanning, please bring it along on the day! Photos, deeds, any documents at all relating to Lathom. Bring them all in!
